The Canadian Centre of Cannabis Innovation (C3i) leverages networks, infrastructure, and collaborative communities built by two partnering organizations in the food and bioscience clusters in Prince Edward Island which have achieved both national and international recognition.

The PEI BioAlliance is a private sector-led non-for-profit organization that is responsible for developing and coordinating strategy for the growth of the Prince Edward Island Bioscience Cluster. Since 2005, the BioAlliance has facilitated the work of businesses and academic and research institutions, and federal and provincial agencies in establishing the bioscience sector as a key pillar in the economic foundation of the province and Atlantic Canada.

The Food Island Partnership is an industry-led organization tasked with growing the food industry through food company and food cluster development on Prince Edward Island. Their vision is to establish Prince Edward Island as an internationally-recognized place of origin for premium food products and a destination for culinary experience. The organization’s staff works closely with Canada’s Smartest Kitchen and BioFoodTech, leads an accelerator and start-up program for food companies, and works directly with people developing new food products.
